141. The Preservation Festival at The Ferry Plaza

We love when things are going on at The Ferry Plaza . So much so we keep a constant eye out for fun stuff to post here at 365.

Well, this Saturday the The Center for Urban Education about Sustainable Agriculture will be playing host to The Preservation Festival.

Sounds downright yummy, doesn’t it?

A series of technique-based preservation demonstrations and Q&A sessions with Sherri Brooks Vinton, author of Put ‘Em Up (Storey, 2010) in the CUESA Kitchen

10:00 – Cold pack method: Learn to make spicy carrots

11:00 – Hot pack method: Learn to make heirloom tomato salsa

12:00 – Jam demo: Learn to make sweet pepper jam

There will also be taste samplings going on with local vendors of The Farmers’ Market.
