The 11th Annual How Weird Street Faire happens this Sunday, May 9th, which just happens to be Mother’s Day as well. :)

This years theme is Bollyweird: The Cosmic Dance… and you may not be aware of this, but the current World’s Record for the largest Bollywood Dance is set somewhere at around 1,111 participants. The aim this year is not only to beat this record at the Street Faire, but “shatter it”. Check the soundtrack below to get warmed up.

Instruction for the easy to learn, Bollyweird dance are available online. More from that How Weird Street Faire website about the event:

Ten blocks of art and celebration, and ten stages of music. Performances and colorful costumes, vendors from around the world with unique and creative wares, non-profit organizations to educate and inspire, exotic food and drinks, and much more! And we’re bringing back the MAGIC STICKER, which gives back to the community for supporting the faire.

The How Weird Street Faire showcases many different types of electronic music. The music stages are produced by local collectives and music organizations working together for peace. This year will include stages by Symbiosis, Muti Music, Rebel Bass Collective, Tantra, Groove Garden, Non Stop Bhangra, Temple Nightclub, Opel, Opulent Temple, Strategik, Space Cowboys, Brass Tax, Le Harem, Ultraviolet Carnival, Team Infinity, Red Marines Festival, Aum Festival, Style/Clash, and more [...]

This event seems to embrace the character the IS San Francisco. Come on out and get your freak weird on – Jai ho!

Costumes and donations are encouraged. :)
